This stellar Bolivian coffee comes courtesy of the Rodriguez family. Pedro Rodriguez, a vanguard of microlot specialty coffee in Bolivia, has been producing coffee there since 1986. He now runs Agricafe alongside his daughter and son. The multi-generational family business has become an umbrella under which the family manage their own farms, as well as supporting other independent growers with training and education programs in an effort to elevate Bolivian coffee on the global stage.
Agricafe’s ethos focuses on sustainability and innovation. They take an agroecological approach to farming, with a large portion of their farms dedicated to biodiversity and the growth of native species, as well as reforestation and land rehabilitation programs. These practices ensure the long-term health of the farm, as well as preserve the balance of nature critical to a healthy ecosystem.
The Rodriguez family provides employment to over 600 families across 20 communities, and their producer education program Sol De La Mañana works to provide extensive training to other local producers in all aspects of specialty coffee production. This program empowers farmers to improve their own farming practices, further securing the future of Bolivian specialty coffee.
It’s an honor to be partnering directly with the Rodriguez family to offer this exceptional coffee to you. Know that your purchase is directly supporting hard-working, independent producers.
”To work in harmony with people, earth and environment.”
